MY MINIMALISTIC SHOWER ROUTINE 2018

I'm not one of those girls who owns a gallon of beauty products. This is partly to do with my slightly-minimalist nature and also the fact that many products harm my sensitive skin. I definitely don't have a bathroom full of expensive and luxury items, and my shower isn't full of de-tangling shampoos and fragrance-bursting shower scrubs. However, I do love having a shower. I usually take my shower in the evening after a day of studying and it really helps me loosen-up and relax. In general I like to use chemical-free, environmentally friendly products and I don't skimp on this in the bathroom. This is great to read if you're looking to change your shower routine up for a more simple or ethical one.

1. Clean My Face

The first thing I like to do when I get in the shower is give my face a really nice wash. I think that cleaning your face every single day is really important as it removes anything that has settled on it throughout the day - as well as removing any make-up you might be wearing. I use this Deep Cleansing Face Wash by Nature's Response, this is such a great face wash and has served me well throughout my teenage years. It's main ingredient is Tea Tree and it also contains Witch hazel which are both supposed to be great for your skin! It removes any make-up or dirt really easily (apart from waterproof mascara, which I've had some difficulty with) and is very gentle on my skin. My sister, however, did have some trouble when she tried this so it may not be benevolent on every skin type. Something I especially love about this product is their policy on no Parabens or Sodium Lauryl Sulphate as these can be harmful to you. It is also not tested on animals, which is a big green tick in my book.

2. Wash My Hair.

Next, I wash my hair. For my hair I use Faith in Nature Pomegranate & Rooibos Shampoo. I am often talking about this brand, simply because it's what my family use in our house and I think it works really well. I use the same shampoo every time but I often alternate the scents because I think it's good for my hair to change it up a bit as each ingredient has different properties. Faith in Nature is a vegan, vegetarian, cruelty free and non-chemical containing brand which is brilliant and a policy I love to support.

3. Body Wash

Whilst I'm waiting for the shampoo to fully rinse off I use a Faith in Nature Shower Gel & Foam Bath. At the moment I am using the Seaweed & Citrus flavour, it isn't necessarily my ideal scent but it does the job!

4. Condition My Hair.

If I love one thing about washing my hair, it's the silky feeling conditioner leaves on it.  I use this absolutely gorgeous Kiwi & Lime Smooth Shine Conditioner, I would really recommend this and I even wrote a whole post on it if you would like to read that here: Enhance Your Hair | Faith in Nature Brave Botanicals. I just put this on the ends of my hair and then rinse it all off.
